The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation is donating $5,000 to the Texas Farm Bureau's fund to aid farmers with losses from Hurricane Harvey. The relief fund was established to address the agricultural losses inflicted by the heavy rains that left many Texas farm and ranch families facing overwhelming odds to recover and rebuild.

"It’s an historic storm and a disaster for many farmers and ranchers," said Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening. The flooding, he said, caused additional damage because it hit during harvest season.

Donations to this fund will be dispersed through an application process directly to the farmers and ranchers affected by the storm. Iowa Farm Bureau members can also make donations to the Texas Farm Bureau relief fund by going to: http://bit.ly/2wMo3ea.
