Cultivation an option for battling pesky weeds, with multiple options for control showcased at annual field day.
Multiple options for mechanical weed control were showcased at the Midwest Mechanical Weed Control Field Day Aug. 20 at the Iowa State University Horticulture Research Farm in Ames.
The event drew approximately 210 farmers from across the Midwest, who came to hear from experts, connect with equipment companies, network with peers and see in-field demonstrations of a wide range of weeding tools.
Field day founder and lead organizer Sam Oschwald Tilton with Glacial Drift Enterprises said the annual gathering has grown in popularity because of its strong emphasis on hands-on demonstrations.
