Early fall weather favorable for harvest in Iowa

After the 29th driest summer on record in Iowa, a widely variable rainfall pattern continued in September.
The greatest amounts were in the south-central and southeastern parts of the state, where precipitation totaled around six inches at a few locations. In the rest of Iowa, amounts were mostly below normal, with some locations receiving less than an inch of rain.
