Research shows drone technology is rapidly advancing and exceeding expectations, offering farmers in Iowa cost-effective, efficient solutions for herbicide and fungicide applications.

Beck’s Hybrids highlighted its latest research in spray technology during Becknology Day Aug. 14 at the company’s Colfax facility.

Jason Gahimer, practical farm research manager at Beck’s, shared multiyear trial results that included John Deere’s See & Spray technology and Sentera’s SmartScript, a new drone-based tool that identifies and maps weeds for precision applications.

“It’s an exciting time for technology advancements,” Gahimer said. 

Now in its third year, Beck’s research shows promising re­sults with smart applications of herbicide and fungicide.
