The deadline to purchase crop insurance for corn and soybeans in Iowa is in one week on Wednesday, March 15.   This year’s spring corn price of $5.91 is just 1¢ per bushel higher than last year. The 2023 spring soybean price is $13.76 which is 57¢ per bushel lower than last year’s record high price.   These high prices allow for good revenue guarantees to be provided by crop insurance.

Farmers have until March 15 to apply for crop insurance through an agent or make changes to their policy from last year.
