As of the August 10 th Crop Progress report, corn conditions around the country varied greatly from state to state. Iowa’s corn crop was listed as 25% excellent, 58% good, 14% fair and 3% poor, but none in the very poor category. Illinois corn conditions were 13% excellent, 43% good, 29% fair, but also 10% poor and 5% very poor. Indiana and North Carolina have less than 50% in the excellent/good categories. In the map below you can see the condition of the corn crop for each state, and the total size of the pie chart on each state represents the number of corn acres planted in that state.
