Volatility in the cattle market is a growing concern for cattle producers, and some are wondering if market messaging has played a role in the volatility the market has seen in the past year.

Ed Greiman, past president of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) and a cattle farmer from Garner, said cattlemen have questions about what’s caused the volatility in the marketplace.

"It’s a pretty complex situation we have going now," Greiman, a Hancock County Farm Bureau member, said during an interview at the National Cattle Industry Convention in San Diego recently.
