Ten years ago, many in Iowa agriculture had a vision of creating a group that would help Iowa livestock farmers understand new laws and regulations placed on livestock farming. That vision became a reality when the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF) was formed by and supported by various commodity groups in the state.

"Livestock producers were really coming under a lot of scrutiny by their fellow Iowans. New state laws were passed, new regulations were being developed, all regarding and focused on livestock facilities," said Rich Degner, CEO of the Iowa Pork Producers Association. "We thought there should be a staff who every day came to work and were focused on these issues."

Last week, CSIF celebrated its 10th anniversary with a program and reception at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
