2016 Planting Progress Update

According to the May 16 th USDA/NASS Crop Progress report, Iowa has 88% of their corn crop planted, compared to the 5-year average of 78%. Additionally, 51% of corn in Iowa has emerged which is also ahead of the 5-year average of 35%. Missouri leads the way with 96% of their corn crop planted.
Soybean planting progress in Iowa is 43% complete, slightly ahead of the 5-year average of 37% at this time. 4% of Iowa soybeans have emerged, behind the 5-year average of 5%.
