The Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act would bring stability back to inland waterways funding and provide drought relief for Western U.S. agriculture. Andrew Walmsley, director of congressional relations at AFBF, explained in a recent Newsline that the legislation will provide much-needed support for the nation’s inland waterways transportation system.

One of the titles in the bill is WRDA, the Water Resources Development Act. WRDA “really looks at the health of our inland waterways along with our ports and there’s a lot of improvements in that along with some Army Corps reports authorizing projects moving forward,” Walmsley said.
