Tornado season is upon us, and Iowans are learning more about the ben­­efits of construct­ing storm shelters, just like the one built at the Iowa 4-H Camp in Boone County.

In May, a tornado that touched down near Ogden prompted Iowa 4-H Camp leaders to herd 120 campers and other leaders into their newly constructed storm shelter at 3 a.m. The structure was completed last fall and recently had a ribbon-cutting celebration.
