The first stage of a project to reconstruct the interchange at Iowa 415 and 66th Avenue near Saylorville will require road closures next week, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes construction office.
Repair work on a pavement bump will cause the closure of Second Avenue from 60th Street to 72nd Street either Monday, June 17 or Tuesday, June 18 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Weather will drive the timing of the repair.
A detour will be established during the closure of Second Avenue. Traffic will be directed around the construction site along 60th Street, NE 14th Street, and 72nd Street. Digital message signs will be used to identify the detour. Motorists on Iowa 415 are asked to observe warning messages on electronic signs and be alert for any traffic backups that may occur.
