The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Monday, May 15, to discuss the proposed improvements to U.S. 63 from River Road/Wapello County Road J-12 to U.S. 34 in Ottumwa. The proposed project provides for the grading and paving of a new four-lane divided highway within the project limits. The current connection of Rabbit Run Road to U.S. 63 will be relocated to the south approximately 1,500 feet.

Traffic will be detoured during construction using Vine Street and Madison Avenue. For more information, view the detour map at: www.iowadot.gov/pim.

All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Ottumwa High School, 501 Second St. E. The meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvements. No formal presentation will be made.
