Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), along with the family of former TV and radio broadcaster Mark Pearson and support from a number of donors, will be offering a new scholarship for students attending DMACC beginning in the fall of 2016. Pearson was a well-known farm broadcaster who died in 2012.

"The Mark Pearson FFA Leadership Scholarship" will provide a full-tuition scholarship to qualifying Iowa FFA chapter presidents who attend DMACC. Recipients can choose any of DMACC’s more than 160 majors.

"We are proud to honor the legacy of Mark Pearson and recognize the leaders of FFA chapters across the state of Iowa," said DMACC President Rob Denson. "This new scholarship will help to build the next generation of community leaders."
