According to the most recent USDA/NASS Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report, 88% of the Iowa corn crop is silking and 7% is in the dough stage. The South Central Crop Reporting District (CRD) has 96% silking, while the Northeast CRD is only at 82%.

81% of Iowa soybeans are blooming. Soybeans setting pods ranges across the state with some CRD’s at over 50% setting pods, and other CRD’s have less than 30% of soybeans setting pods.

In Southwest Iowa, 61% of oats have been harvested, however only 7% have been harvested in the North Central CRD.  Second cutting of alfalfa in Iowa is slightly ahead of the average and is now 86% complete.
