Iowa pork delegates adopt policies on animal welfare, price reporting

Price-reporting procedures and animal welfare were top of mind as Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) delegates met in Des Moines last week for the Iowa Pork Congress.
The delegate body voted to reaffirm the work that the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has been doing to get one standardized program of on-farm evaluations that will be suitable for all packers. The Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) and Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) programs would serve as the baseline in developing the on-farm evaluation.
