The Iowa Nutrient Research Center has released its 2024 Annual Review. The four-page report highlights activities and funded projects over the last year, when $1.31 million was awarded to nine new research projects.

A message from the directors, INRC Director Matt Helmers and Assistant Director Kay Stefanik, highlights the essential contributions of the researchers whose work is the foundation of the center’s accomplishments. They include the graduate and undergraduate scientists featured during the spring 2024 seminar series “Focus on the Future - Students and Their Contributions to Water Quality Research.”

Briefs of INRC’s activities and impacts in the 2024 review include a stakeholder meeting in the spring to review and prioritize research needs related to nutrient reduction, workshops, field days and other outreach and educational events. A series of news stories on impactful research collaborations, website resources and the water quality research seminar series with recordings available online are featured under communications.

An INRC by the Numbers infographic summarizes the year’s projects, funding, student researchers, presentations, workshops and field days, and peer-reviewed research publications.

The review is available to download as a PDF from the INRC’s website. Comments or questions about the annual report can be directed to INRC at inrc_wq@iastate.edu.
