As snow fell and temperatures dipped below zero through much of Iowa last week, farmers braved the snow and frigid temps to take care of their livestock.
“Farmers don’t get snow days,” said Denise Schwab, beef field specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

In Garner, brothers Matt and Ed Greiman and their dad, Stan, were sorting cattle to be moved later in the day to a feedlot the family owns.
Their cows and cattle are split between different farms.
