Iowans can now enter for a chance to win a $200 meat gift card through Iowa Farm Bureau’s Sizzlin’ Summer Giveaway in partnership with Fareway Meat and Grocery.

One winner will be announced from each of Fareway’s 116 locations in Iowa. Additionally, one grand prize winner will receive a Pit Boss Ultimate Lift-Off Griddle, $500 Fareway meat bundle, a Grizzly Drifter 20 soft-sided cooler and a swag bag with backyard barbeque gear.

To enter, visit www.iowafarmbureau.com/SizzlinSummer and answer five multiple choice questions about how farmers provide nutrient-dense meat, dairy and eggs, while also caring for animals and the environment. One entry per email address is allowed; the contest ends June 22.

“Iowans take pride in providing their neighbors with high-quality meats that bring families together,” says IFBF President Brent Johnson. “"We know consumers want to know more about how their food is grown and raised, and this contest is a fun way to engage them while also highlighting the efforts of Iowa farmers who prioritize animal care and sustainability.”

Animal-based proteins, such as meat, are natural sources of vitamin B12—essential for healthy brain development in children and proper nervous system function—and they provide more zinc than any other food in the American diet, helping to support a strong immune system.

At the same time, farmers are using technology and innovation to produce more meat while using fewer natural resources. Between 1990 and 2022, U.S. farmers reduced greenhouse gas emissions per meal by 25%.

“Fareway has always believed that high-quality, nutritious protein is made possible through the dedication and integrity of our farmers,” says Fareway VP of Market Operations, Jeff Cook. “This contest is our way of celebrating the incredible men and women who make it happen—strengthening communities, preserving traditions, and ensuring a strong food system. Whether it's a backyard barbecue or a family dinner, Fareway is honored to be part of those special moments where great food brings people together.”
