Iowa Farm Bureau and the Iowa State University (ISU) Athletics Department have announced the selection of the 2022-23 Farm Strong Squad.

Each year, the squad honors 16 Cyclone student-athletes (one from each sport) who embody the qualities of hard work, commitment and integrity displayed by Iowa's farmers.

"This group of student-athletes has exhibited the same values and characteristics that farmers and Iowans display daily," said ISU Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard. "The continued partnership we have with the Iowa Farm Bureau allows us to recognize these Cyclones for their character, work ethic and dedication, both in the classroom and in their sports."

Brent Johnson, Iowa Farm Bureau president, praised the athletes selected to this year's squad.

"These outstanding Cyclone student-athletes were recognized as members of this year's Farm Strong Squad because they embody the same hard work ethic, dedication and grit as Iowa farmers," Johnson said. "These student-athletes set a positive example for their teams and community, and just like Iowa farmers, they show outstanding character and perseverance during challenging and unprecedented times. Their work ethic both on and off the field stands as a testament to the Farm Strong character, and we are pleased to celebrate their achievements and success."

The Farm Strong squad will be honored throughout the year via in-game recognitions, a mural on the concourse at Hilton Coliseum, the Iowa State Athletics website, social media and the annual Cyclone Scholar-Athlete Banquet.
