June is an excellent time to evaluate early season weed management.
There have been lots of fields with heavy infestations of winter annuals or early emerging summer annuals. These weeds not only make it more difficult to establish an adequate crop stand but also provide an excellent environment for insect infestations. It may be worthwhile to consider a fall burn-down application with a residual after harvest.
