If you suffer from dry, itchy eyes but over-the-counter eye drops or artificial tears don’t provide relief, a new treatment is now available in Iowa for chronic dry eye.
Eye Care of Iowa is the only clinic in the state — and one of only a few in the Midwest — to offer the LipiFlow system, a new technology to treat evaporative dry eye.
Patients from as far away as South Dakota, Minnesota and Missouri have traveled to Eye Care of Iowa’s Pleasant Hill Clinic seeking treatment for their dry eye symptoms, says Dr. Matthew Ward, with Eye Care of Iowa.
The clinic has treated more than 100 patients with the LipiFlow system since introducing it last December, and the patients have reported back that they are happy with the results, Ward says.
