If nothing else, 2020 has proven to be a year when flexibility is king. We’ve all made changes to keep people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) is no different.

Farm Bureau’s annual meeting this year will be very different than any other in our organization’s 102-year history. Instead of the traditional big December gathering in Des Moines, Farm Bureau will hold a virtual business session at designated locations in each Farm Bureau district, with only county voting delegates attending in person.

At the district meetings, delegates will vote in statewide elections for vice president and several other statewide offices.

This year’s educational seminars will be a series of very interesting webinars beginning Dec. 10, featuring great speakers. You won’t want to miss them. Learn more on our website: www.iowafarmbureau.com.

We’ll also announce our traditional awards, and we’ll recognize Young Farmer Leaders, this year’s class of the IFBF Ag Leaders Institute, as well as other outstanding members throughout December in the Spokesman, on our website and through our social media outlets.

It won’t be a typical IFBF annual meeting where we all enjoy great food, entertainment and, most of all, reconnecting with friends from all over Iowa.

But we’re excited to bring you the same quality content you’ve come to expect, and with the virtual meeting helping keep us safe in 2020, we’ll be ready to gather again next year and beyond.
