Join other young farmers on fun & educational tours of innovative agricultural sites in northeast Iowa and a visit to the Field of Dreams, July 8 and 9! Two packed days of learning and interaction with unique agriculture!   Farm Bureau members aged 18 – 35 are eligible to register.

- Hawkeye Buffalo & Cattle Ranch, Fredericksburg, Iowa 

Tour and learn about the balance between nature and the health of buffalo and cattle herds. Feed the buffalo on this unique stop that includes direct marketing to consumers. 

- Country View Dairy, Hawkeye, Iowa

All-natural farmstead yogurt in both Original and Greek style, using the milk from the family’s own dairy herd.   See the state-of-the-art creamery located right on the family farm, guaranteeing the freshest premium quality products.  The tour ends with a cup of the famous frozen yogurt soft serve.   

- Dinner with Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer Advisory Committee, Quasqueton, Iowa

This farmer won the 2022 Iowa Farm Bureau Grow Your Future Award!  Hear the story of the operation and plans for the future.  This stop features farm to retail beef with farm pick up and shipping.  

- If You Build It Exhibit, Dyersville, Iowa

This new exhibit is dedicated to the making of America’s Slice of Heaven, the film Field of Dreams. See how the magic continues after Hollywood left a small town living the dream!  Revisit your favorite moments from the film, discover stories from behind the scenes, and how locals helped make baseball movie magic in an Iowa cornfield.

A Ghost Player will board our bus and give us the background of the movie, farm, and baseball field.  See and walk the baseball diamond carved from a corn field!  Take in the sites and visit the souvenir shop.

The passenger motorcoach will begin at IFBF Headquarters in West Des Moines on the morning of July 8 and pick up more members at Days Inn & Suites, 1809 La Porte Road, Waterloo. 

The trip is organized by the IFBF Field Services Division.  Participant fee is only $110 per person; spouses are encouraged to participate.  Fee includes hotel room, transportation, all site fees and three group meals.  Participants must be Farm Bureau members and preference will be given to first time young farmer tour participants. 

The Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer Ag Insights tour is a great opportunity to learn about unique Iowa agriculture, get ideas for your own business and meet other young Iowa farmers with similar experiences.
