Back in 1985, in the midst of a national Farm Crisis, legendary Iowa Hawkeye coach Hayden Fry created a decal for his team’s football helmets to show support for struggling farm families. The emblem, with the letters “A-N-F”, stood for “America Needs Farmers.”
Thirty-two years later, the “ANF” decal remains fastened to Iowa’s helmets because today – more than ever – America (still) Needs Farmers. But do you know why?
