Real Talk to Real Timelines: A Take Root Immersive Farm Succession Workshop
August 12-13, 2026 – West 48 Conference Center – West Des Moines, Iowa
“Real Talk to Real Timelines,” builds on Iowa Farm Bureau’s Take Root programming with a two-day, hands-on experience designed for farm families who want to protect what they’ve built and prepare for what comes next. Recognizing that farming is more than a business—it’s a way of life shaped by generations—this immersive workshop helps families navigate the complex personal, operational, and ownership decisions required for long-term continuity.
Through short learning bursts and structured, family specific work time with experienced coaches, participants build a comprehensive Succession Plan Binder by the end of the two-day workshop. Families leave with clear vision and values, defined roles and governance, mapped land and ownership structures, transition timelines, risk and estate planning checklists, and a concrete 90 day action plan—ensuring today’s decisions support an enduring legacy for future generations.
