Kristine Tidgren, director of the Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation at Iowa State University, shared key updates, practical tax tips and essential information on the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation's annual farm income tax webinar to assist farmers as they prepare for tax season. 

Transportation rules webinar recording 

Trooper Jay Kirkpatrick with the Iowa State Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicles Unit provided updates on the regulations and exemptions that apply to farmers as they transport their crops during harvest on a Sept. 29 webinar hosted by Iowa Farm Bureau. The webinar included information regarding registrations and licensing of farm vehicles, pre-trip inspections, vehicle weight and much more. 

An overview of U.S. farm policy: How the focus of the farm bill has changed 

David Miller, chief economist at Decision Innovation Solutions, covered the history and current landscape of U.S. farm policy on an Iowa Farm Bureau Federation webinar. Federal farm policy has evolved significantly over the years. Today, more than 80% of farm bill spending goes to food and nutrition programs, while the commodity program focus has shifted to crop and livestock insurance and revenue support, alongside newer focuses like energy and rural development.
