In Ms. Hughs’ first grade classroom at United Elementary, the students are embarking on an exciting educational journey to learn about soybeans. This week, the young learners are discovering the importance of this versatile crop through interactive lessons and hands-on activities that bring the subject to life. After being read a book about soybeans, the students got to build their very own seed house, using moist cotton balls, plastic bags, water, and soybean seeds. In Ms. Van Dyke's class at Trinity Lutheran school, kindergarten students were ready for spring and learned about pollen. They discovered the animals and insects that can help carry pollen, how flowers reproduce, and why pollination is so essential. We ended the activity by making our very own butterflies.
