The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer Advisory Committee elected executive committee positions for 2025-26:

  • Chair: Michael McEnany, Story County
  • Vice Chair: Tyler Woodward, Fremont County
  • Secretary: Abby Woodward Fremont County
  • Public Relations Co-Chairs: Tim Cohoon, Sac County and Ashley McEnany, Story County  

These leaders, along with the full committee, are responsible for planning the Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer annual conference, which brings together 500 attendees from across Iowa for learning and networking. Additionally, they organize educational opportunities and family-friendly events in their local communities.

Michael and Ashley McEnany raise cattle and sell direct-to-consumer beef through their business, Double M Angus. Michael is a past Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer Leadership Award winner and Story County Farm Bureau voting delegate. Ashley works as a program specialist at Iowa State University and at Whatcha Smokin’ restaurant in Luther. 

Tyler and Abby Woodward have two children and farm corn and soybeans. Tyler is an Ag Leaders Institute graduate and serves as the Fremont County Farm Bureau vice president. Abby, a former teacher, now stays home with their children and helps support the family farm.

Tim Cohoon farms corn and soybeans and raises cattle with his wife, Nicole, and her father and two brothers. Cohoon has his own branding and digital marketing agency. He and Nicole are both involved locally and at the state level in Farm Bureau, participating in various ag insight tours, policy trips and competing in the Young Farmer Conference Discussion Meet.  

The committee was also joined by new members, beginning their three-year terms:

  • Lucas and Bethany De Bruin of Mahaska County have two children and own Deep Root Bison, a direct-to-consumer bison meat business. They also farm corn, soybeans and rye. Off the farm, Lucas works as a research agronomist for the Iowa Soybean Association and is an Ag Leaders Institute graduate. 
     
  • Devin and Meghan Brincks of Winneshiek County have two children and grow corn, soybeans and alfalfa and raise pigs. Devin serves as the Winneshiek County Farm Bureau vice president and is an Ag Leaders Institute graduate. Meghan is a school teacher. 
     
  • Bryan and Crystal Schoeder of Plymouth County have three children and grow corn and soybeans and raise hogs. They are active volunteers through the Remsen Demolition Derby, Plymouth County Fair, and Bryan is on the Plymouth County Farm Bureau board.  

Continuing their terms on the advisory committee are Tanner Brass, Franklin County; Joris and Katherine Boelen, Poweshiek County; and Matt and Hilary Lanman, Jefferson County.
