“The Dog Lover” opens in theaters across the country today. Written and directed by Alex Ranarivelo and Ali Afshar, the movie accurately portrays the wrongful raid of a South Dakota man’s hunting dog operation by an animal rights group out to set an example. Not only did they raid the operation, but they also took his 173 registered hunting dogs worth thousands of dollars. The owner was never found guilty on any counts related to his operation and later sued the organization, but in the end, he only got a small portion of what he spent in fighting the charges.
