Region 6 of the Iowa Farm Bureau, which includes Allamakee, Clayton, Howard, Chickasaw, Fayette, and Winneshiek counties, sponsored chocolate milk, cheese sticks, and beef sticks for the athletes participating in the South Winneshiek Open Invitational Cross Country Meet at the Calmar Golf Course. Schools represented at the event included Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge, Decorah, Kee High, MFL MarMac, Nashua-Plainfield, Postville, St. Ansgar, Turkey Valley, Waterloo Christian, and Waukon. The sponsorship aimed to provide nutritious, Iowa-produced snacks to help fuel athletes after their races.

Providing real meat and dairy products like beef sticks and cheese sticks is essential for athletes, as these foods deliver high-quality protein necessary for muscle recovery and overall strength. Chocolate milk is also a favorite recovery drink among athletes, combining the benefits of protein, carbohydrates, and hydration in one serving. Consuming nutrient-rich foods like these not only helps with performance but also supports long-term health, making them an important part of an athlete's diet.
