The Allamakee County Farm Bureau is proud to recognize Hannah Hagen, an accomplished homeschooled senior who also dualenrolled at Waukon High School, as one of this year’s scholarship recipients. The daughter of Erik and Lisa Hagen, Hannah has demonstrated exceptional academic dedication, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to both agriculture and her community.
Hannah plans to attend Iowa State University, where she will major in Animal Science with a minor in Farm Business Management. Throughout high school, she has been actively involved in FFA, 4H, orchestra, and theater productions, and was honored as a Borlaug Scholar through the Iowa Youth Institute. She has taken on meaningful leadership roles, serving as president of both her 4H club and her church’s Luther League, while contributing to her community through fair activities, church programs, and youth outreach.
Growing up on a dairy farm has shaped Hannah’s passion for agriculture and given her firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of farm life. She plans to pursue a career as an animal nutritionist, working directly with farmers across Iowa to support herd health and farm sustainability. Hannah hopes to return to rural Iowa after completing her education, using her skills to strengthen farm families, support youth programs, and give back to the community that has inspired her journey.
