DES MOINES – The price of global crude oil rose $4.36 per gallon, currently priced at $65.19. Brent crude oil rose $4.71, currently priced at $69.42.
Crude Oil Summary
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.36 per barrel over last week, and is currently priced at $65.19.
Brent crude oil rose $4.71 and is currently priced at $69.42.
One year ago WTI crude sold for $47.34 and Brent crude was at $50.14.
Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, March 20th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.50 across Iowa according to AAA. This is up $.02 from last week and $.21 higher than one year ago. The national average on Tuesday was $2.57, up $.05 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa fell a penny from last week’s price with a statewide average of $2.91. One year ago diesel prices averaged $2.45 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is $.02 less than the national average of $2.93.
Wholesale ethanol prices were $.06 lower than last week’s price, currently at $1.47.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.85 for U87-E10, $2.06 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $2.06, ULSD#1 is at $2.17, and E-70 is priced at $1.63 per gallon.
Heating Fuels
Propane prices dropped $.02 for a statewide average of $1.40 per gallon. Home heating oil prices held steady at last week’s figures, ending with a statewide average of $2.37. Natural Gas prices fell $.10 at the Henry Hub reporting site and ended the week at $2.66/ MMbtu.
