The price of natural gas fell $.11 this week, closing at $2.28 per MMbtu.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.17 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $58.41.
- Brent crude oil rose $.24 and is currently priced at $63.31.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $51.65 and Brent crude was at $59.73.
Motor Fuels
- As of Tuesday, December 10, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.35 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell $.03 from last week’s price and $.20 higher than one year ago.
- The national average on Tuesday was $2.57, down $.03 from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell $.02 this week with a statewide average of $2.84.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.90 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is $.16 less than the national average of $3.00.
- Wholesale ethanol prices decreased $.04 from last week’s price, currently at $1.32.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.65 for U87-E10, $1.79 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.96, ULSD#1 is at $2.35, and E-70 is priced at $1.57 per gallon.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices fell $.10 for a statewide average of $1.40 per gallon. Home heating oil prices fell $.01, ending with a statewide average of $2.41 per gallon. Natural Gas prices fell $.11 at the Henry Hub reporting site and currently priced at $2.28/MMbtu.
