The Agriculture Department recently began data collection for the 2019 Organic Survey and the 2019 Census of Horticultural Specialties.
Survey codes, which enable producers to respond to surveys online, were mailed Dec. 6 for the Organic Survey, and Dec. 16 for the Census of Horticultural Specialties. Each are conducted just once every five years to expand on 2017 Census of Agriculture data. Producers are encouraged to respond online via NASS’ secure website. The online questionnaire is user-friendly, accessible on most electronic devices, and saves producers valuable time by calculating totals and automatically skipping questions not applicable to their operations.
The deadline for the 2019 Organic Survey is Jan. 10, 2020, and Feb. 5, 2020, for the 2019 Census of Horticultural Specialties. Results will be available for both in fall 2020.
