The Iowa Department of Transportation is requesting public input for proposed improvements to U.S. 30 in Story County.

The proposed project includes closing the at-grade intersection at Story County Road S-14 and constructing a bridge on S-14 over U.S. 30 just east of the current at-grade intersection on a southwest to northeast alignment to existing South 6th Street.  Story County Road S-14 will be closed at U.S. 30, and the local roads on the south side of U.S. 30 will be realigned to tie into S-14. The existing U.S. 30 and South 6th Street at grade intersection will remain open at the conclusion of construction.

Construction of the project is expected to begin in 2023.

U.S. 30 traffic will be maintained at all times during the project. S-14 and local roads will have closures and detours during some phases of the project to tie into the new roadway.
