Senecavirus Found in Iowa Packing Plants

Since July 19 there has been 10 reported cases of vesicular diseases between two different processing plants in Iowa.

Seven of these cases have tested positive for Senecavirus. The Senecavirus is part of the same viral family as Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Swine Vesicular Disease (SVDV).
