The 2017 DNR Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) Assemblies will be held Oct. 4-26 at 18 locations. Following is a listing of the dates and locations (a copy is also attached and here’s a link to a .pdf listing). Some members like to attend this every-other-year series of area meetings and advocate Farm Bureau policy. Members can propose and vote on recommendations that may eventually be considered by the Iowa Legislature. Delegates to the REAP Congress in January will also be nominated at the area meetings. Past REAP Congress recommendations can be found here. Much more information can be found on the DNR REAP webpage. All regional assemblies are 6:30-8 p.m.
The program is authorized to receive $20 million per year until 2021, but the Iowa Legislature sets the amount of REAP funding annually. This year $12 million was appropriated to REAP. More information abort funding and projects can be found here and here.
