ORANGE CITY—The season might not be right for the Orange City Farmers’ Market, but it cannot be denied that the weekly, warmer weather marketplace is a boon to the town.

Miranda Fahrenbruch of Alton is the co-leader of the Orange City Farmers’ Market with Mona Murren of Orange City. Fahrenbruch is the owner and operator of Fahrenbruch Gardens. She keeps her customers supplied with dry herb and hot chocolate mixes, cheese ball mixes and mulling spices, breads and greeting cards.

Fahrenbruch began selling her wares at the farmers’ market four years ago and began putting her profits into an adoption account.

“All of the money goes into that account,” she said. “We have a foster son we are hoping to adopt.”
