Remaining work to reconstruct the interchange at Iowa 415 and Northwest 66th Avenue to an intersection with signals requires closing Northwest 66th Avenue at Iowa 415 to traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, April 13, until mid-May, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes construction office.
During this closure, access will be maintained for local traffic by a marked detour using Northwest 6th Drive and U.S. 69. No access with be available on or off Iowa 415 at the new intersection and alternating lane closures will also be in place. These closures will allow the contractor to complete the remaining work on Northwest 66th Avenue and Iowa 415.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
