Because of the anticipated severe weather for Wednesday, December 15, the Iowa Utilities Board approved rescheduling the information meetings for the Navigator Heartland Greenway Pipeline that were planned in Hamilton and Hardin Counties to January 20. Navigator's land agents will not be able to negotiate voluntary easements or conduct land surveys in these two counties until after the information meetings are held in January.
The meetings will be held in their original locations at their original times on January 20, 2022:
Hamilton County: 12 PM at the Briggs Woods Conference Center, 2501 Briggs Woods Trail, Webster City, Iowa
Hardin County: 6 PM at Ellsworth Community College Auditorium, 1100 College Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa
Information meetings are held to provide landowners and the community the opportunity to ask questions about the project and the IUB permit review process before voluntary easement negotiations can begin. Navigator CO2 Ventures LLC is proposing a pipeline project to run over 1,300 miles across five states (Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Illinois) and transport 15 million metric tons of liquid carbon dioxide per year from Midwest ethanol and fertilizer plants to be permanently sequestered underground in Central Illinois.
