Hunting Seasons Review, Rule Changes Focus of DNR Meeting Series

Iowans can learn more about last year's hunting season results and discuss possible changes to the 2020-2021 hunting rules by attending one of a series of 18 local meetings Feb. 19-March 5 around Iowa.

“We want people to come out to these meetings, listen to the hunting seasons reviews, ask questions and hear directly from our staff,” says Todd Bishop, chief of the Iowa DNR’s Wildlife Bureau. “Part of the meeting will be devoted to discussing potential rule changes and collecting feedback as we work through the rules process.”

The meetings are open to the public. The comments will be considered along with other data generated and information received by the Iowa DNR prior to proposing changes to next season's hunting rules and regulations. The department's proposed rules for next season will be presented to the Natural Resource Commission this spring, where additional public comment opportunities are provided.
