The RISE program was established to promote economic development in Iowa through construction or improvement of roads and streets.  Iowa cities and counties are eligible for funding in the form of a grant, loan, or combination thereof.  Projects must involve the construction or improvement of a public roadway.  There are two RISE project types: 1) Immediate Opportunity, and 2) Local Development.  More information is available at www.iowadot.gov/systems_planning/rise.htm.

Ames: Up to $1,812,091 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in the improvement of approximately 1,570 feet of South Riverside Drive and construction of approximately 1,860 feet of Collaboration Place located on the south side of town. This project is necessary to provide improved access to more than 200 acres for University Research Park purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by December 2019.

Ankeny: Up to $2,022,188 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in the construction of approximately 1,215 feet of SE 77th Street, 3,440 feet of SE Crosswinds Drive and a right-turn lane on SE Four Mile Drive located on the southeast side of town. This project is necessary to provide improved access to more than 159 acres for industrial, warehouse and professional office purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by November 2019.

Boone County: Up to $94,482 from the county share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in the paving of approximately 1,780 feet of QF Lane located west of Madrid. This project is necessary to support tourism by providing improved access to Grant’s Woods Park. This project is anticipated to be completed by July 2020.
