Farm Bureau's version of a quiz bowl is an exciting way to test your agricultural knowledge and skill. Locally organized county Farm Bureau teams compete against each other for fun, prizes and personal development. The contest is held on Farm Bureau dat during the Iowa State Fair in August.

BOB JOSLIN EXCELLENCE IN AGRICULTURE AWARD |

The Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture Award Program is designed as an opportunity for Young Farmers & Ranchers, while actively contributing and growing through their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture, to earn recognition. Participants will be judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations (i.e., civic, service and community). The Bob Joslin award winner competes nationally in the Excellence in Agriculture Competition at the American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.

DISCUSSION MEET |
|
|
This contest encourages young farmers to participate in a "kitchen-table style" discussion on agricultural issues. Groups of four to seven members compete and are judged on an individual basis. Top scorers from preliminaries compete at the state level during the Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting. The state winner advances to the national competition at the American Farm Bureau annual meeting.

YOUNG FARMER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD |

The Iowa Farm Bureau Young Farmer Achievement Award recognizes young farmers for their efforts in agriculture and leadership achievement. The management, growth and progress of the individual's or couple's farming operation are considered. District winners and state finalists are honored at the Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting. The state winner competes for the national Young Farmer Achievement Award presented at the American Farm Bureau annual meeting. |
