POLICY DEVELOPMENT |

Farm Bureau is the voice of the Iowa farmer working to implement policies developed and adopted by farmers starting from the grassroots level.
Development of Farm Bureau policy is a year-long process, starting in November with the formation of a county policy development committee and continuing through the county annual meeting in the fall. Policies on state issues are adopted by farmer voting delegates at the Iowa Farm Bureau annual meeting in November while national resolutions are adopted by farmer delegates at the American Farm Bureau annual meeting in January.
Farm Bureau's success starts with members, both individually and those serving on 100 county Farm Bureau legislative committees. Members volunteer their time to work on behalf of all Farm Bureau members by contacting state legislators prior to and during the legislative session.
