We all remember favorite
teachers who encouraged us to reach our potential and inspired us to pursue our
future careers. Perhaps there’s a teacher who has sparked that same excitement
in learning for your child.
Nominate an outstanding local teacher for the Excellence in Education Award,
sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau and the Iowa State Education Association. The
Excellence in Education Award honors the countless teachers who make a
difference in the lives of their students each and every day.
To nominate a local teacher, download and complete the
application form. Then prepare an essay (of no more than 1,000 words) that
provides specific examples of how this educator made a difference in your or
your child’s life. Nominations are due September 28.
All the top nominees, along with the individuals who nominated them, are
invited to attend the awards banquet on Nov. 12, compliments of the Iowa Farm
Bureau. In addition, the awardee and his or her school each receive a $1,000
cash reward. Each nominated teacher will also receive a certificate of thanks.
