Wind energy degree approved at Iowa State
A new wind energy degree has been approved by faculty at Iowa State University, Inside Iowa State reported Thursday. The Faculty Senate unanimously approved the new doctorate at a meeting Tuesday. Inside Iowa State said the Ph.D. program will involve 12 departments in three different colleges: engineering, agriculture and life sciences, and liberal arts and sciences. Iowa State would become the first institution to award students a Ph.D. in wind energy science, engineering and policy. A five-year, $3.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship program will help develop the program.
